The Mastery Reps: 3-Step Method To REWIRE Your Mindset (for Beginners)

THIS is WORTH READING no matter what level you're at.

Many people often struggle to find a starting point.

They create overcomplicated scenarios of what they have to do in order to make progress.

Truth be told:

That just isn’t the case.

You just have to fix your mindset one step at a time.

With that being said-

Mindset isn’t hard to figure out.

Want to improve it?

Simply keep taking action.

Your mindset shapes itself based on the actions and lifestyle you choose for yourself.

It’s not just a one-time switch that just flips overnight.

You have to compound daily wins, and overtime your mind will begin working for you instead of against you.

So with all that being said:

Fix your mindset.

Don’t know where to start?

→ Diet
→ Exercise
→ Journaling

Diet

“Dieting is expensive”

No it ain’t.

Unless…

STEAKS EGGS AND AVOCADOS EVERY F*CKING DAY???

Yeah that’s pricey than a mf LMAO

Now depending on your budget,

You can enjoy plenty of chicken breast, ground beef and ground turkey, plenty of greek yogurt, etc etc

But if you’re like me currently (broke asf college student) then what you gotta do is buy these:

  • Tuna, chicken legs, other cheap meats

  • frozen fruits and melons

  • potatoes, lentils, beans

  • hella veggies

BAM. Don’t be so picky.

And make sure you get yourself seasonings.

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • Paprika

  • Garlic powder

  • Onion powder

  • Complete seasoning

  • Knorr chicken flavor bouillon

FREE SAUCE MANE. THATS ALL YOU NEED FOR SEASONINGS.

And if you’re on a budget, don’t worry about buying sh*t in glass, plastic, air bending, super saiyan containers.

Buy the cheapest one, and you’re set.

Another piece of advice:

Shop in stores that sell things for cheap + stores that give plenty of discounts.

I do most of my shopping in Houston (which is in Texas) ((which is in the US))

some of you may not benefit from this list here, but for those that do here’s my list of places.

  • Kroger

Usually have solid items in clearance.

One time found a dozen eggs for less than two bucks back when they were at around $4.

  • Walmart

Walmart just has a lot of grocery items for a good price.

Usually from walmart though, I’m buying low/zero calorie condiments and seasonings, and any great value items I may want/need.

  • Joe-V’s

The next three are more or less around the same price regularly so it’s just a matter of which one is closest to me or whatever.

For the next three is where I buy my meats, veggies, and fruits.

  • El Rancho

  • Fiesta

Here I find individual items on sale or clearance. + the one I go to has a yoplait protein yogurt that has around the same protein/calorie ratio as greek yogurt for damn near half the price + a protein lactaid milk I love.

  • Sam’s (or Costco)

Buying in bulk is the way to go if you can afford the bulk, but mainly here is for diet sodas, sometimes bulk meats like chicken legs thighs or quarters, or a big bag of garlic.

Exercise

“But I cant afford the gym”

mf-

JUST WORKOUT AT HOME.

Here’s 3 basic exercises to start you off:

Squat, Pushups, and Situps.

Or go on a run. Dass it.

For squats-

  • You can put on a backpack

Add on weights with books, or even bags of rice.

  • You can carry on your shoulders heavy bags

  • You can hold gallons of water or any container really.

For pushups-

  • To make it heavier, put on a backpack with weight

  • You can do different hand placements for pushups

For situps-

Just do them. Variations would be either knees bent, or knees straight.

… You know what?

If you can go to the gym, I gotchu.

Here is a document I created a while back for the homies.

  • Push-Pull-Legs routine

  • 3 different weekly schedules

  • Adjustable exercises

There you go:

PPL doc.pdf270.80 KB • PDF File

FREE SAUCE FOR YOU BUD!!!

And one more thing I always preach.

You can stretch before a workout if you want, but ALWAYS STRETCH AFTER THE WORKOUTTTT

putting you on game with that one.

Will massively help with soreness.

Journaling

“Journaling is gay”

Relaxxxx dawg.

We love our gay homies.

+ ain’t you the one that needs guidance?

Here’s me step-by-step process to journaling

and honestly, I still follow this same journaling routine to this day.

1) Get a journal (or open the notes app)

I personally recommend getting a journal.

Writing with your hand forces you to be more present when writing, rather than typing away on your phone.

HOWEVER-

When I started journaling, I started on my Notes app on my iPhone.

BUT- another issue when writing on the notes app

Is that if you want to keep it all in one singular place, you either-

A) Keep a notes album of all your entries

or

B) Have one real long note and scroll all the way down for each entry

Whereas in a notebook, you just have the singular notebook.

2) Write daily. At least:

  • 3 gratitude sentences

    Ex.

    “I am grateful for ……”

  • 3 affirmation sentences

    Ex.

    “I am capable of …..”

    “I will achieve …….”

  • 3 daily goals

    Ex.

    □ 100 pushups”

    □ Write newsletter email”

    □ 5 HW assignments”

also quick note: those goals that I used as an example

are actual goals that I wrote down literally today when I’m writing this lol.

These daily goals keep you in check.

Promise you it works wonders, for your physical & mental health, and for your focus to stay on top of things

Bonus tip: Work on your faith.

I am a Christian.

More specifically a Catholic Christian.

Now I’m not here to debate religion. I am also not here to tell you what to believe in.

In my case though, I believe in Jesus Christ being my lord and savior, alongside saints and the Virgin Mary.

But look though-

THIS is why I say to practice your faith:

  • Sticking to morals and values

  • Spreading positivity

  • Gaining wisdom

There are too many people that spend time PREACHING, but don’t spend time PRACTICING.

You have to walk the talk.

If you believe in the word, no matter what faith it may be, I’m pretty sure you believe in said word because it preaches the morals, ethics, and values that you wish to live by.

And so because of that is why I say to work on your faith.

Be a better human being overall.

In my case when first starting out, I made goals for myself (which aligns with journaling) to compliment at least 1, or 2, or even 3 people (depending on what I said to myself that day) no matter sex, gender, skin color, or race.

And also, I made a vow to myself early on to try my very best to say “Thank you” or some sort of statement like “I appreciate you” that shows my gratefulness, no matter how big or small the deed was towards me.

That sort of positivity works wonders for your brain, mind, and spirit.

Work on your faith.

Practice your faith.

Whatever it may be brudda (or sista).

But yeah!

The idea for this email came from a tweet I drafted earlier today! Will be posting it one of these days.

+the tweet doesn’t include the pdf or the grocery list + it doesn’t include the bonus tip I added on here!

Yall got about 1000 extra words of free sauce from this newsletter! Thank you for your support fr I truly appreciate you giving me the time of day.

Stay sexy.

Stay positive.

Stay hard.

Stay kind.

Lock in.
